Your Secret Valentine's Message!

How ya feeling about Valentine's Day this year?

Hey friend,

What's your feeling on Valentine's Day this year? My kids are nearly all grown, and I miss the days of transforming shoe boxes into card-eating sharks, hot air balloons, or the classic heart and doily adorned mailbox. I did pick up a box of Spongebob Squarepants valentines with pineapple lollies for my 16-year-old to share (I refuse to grow up). Will he share them with friends? I'll keep you posted!

Valentine’s Day can bring up all kinds of feelings—joy, love, loneliness, frustration, nostalgia, or blah. Whether you’re celebrating with someone special, showing love to your kids, or just trying to get through the day without rolling your eyes too hard at all the hearts and roses, I want to remind you of this:

You are worthy of love, just as you are.

Not because of what you accomplish.
Not because of how well you hold it all together.
Not because you’ve checked all the “shoulds” off your list.

But simply because you are you.

If ADHD or a "squirrel-powered busy brain" is creating some complication or chaos, if you struggle with self-doubt, or if you’re just feeling a little worn out—give yourself the same kindness you’d offer a friend. Especially do it today. Maybe that means a little break, a deep breath, walking right past the laundry pile, or even just acknowledging that you are beloved. Have you ever looked up the definition of BELOVED? It means: Greatly loved; dear to the heart. Even on the worst days when "nobody could love you a little" (oh, it's not true, but I know it can feel that way) God greatly loves you (John 3:16 says it all).

So today, whether you’re celebrating or skipping the whole thing, I hope you take a moment to appreciate you. You are doing more than you realize, and you matter. 💙

With encouragement,
Kerri
